Introduction

Welcome to Steed (“the app”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), a bike maintenance app for iPhone made by Charles-Adrien Fournier. By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the app.

Acceptance of terms

By using Steed, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these terms. We may modify them at any time, and modifications take effect when the updated terms are posted on this page. Your continued use of the app means you accept the updated terms.

Use of the app

Steed is licensed to you, not sold, for personal, non-commercial use on Apple devices you own or control. You agree not to misuse the app, reverse engineer it, or use it for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.

Maintenance guidance is an estimate, not a safety inspection

Steed calculates wear and service reminders from ride mileage and the intervals you configure. These are planning estimates only. Real component wear depends on conditions, riding style, weather, and how the bike is maintained.

Steed does not inspect your bicycle and cannot tell you whether it is safe to ride. You are solely responsible for the condition and safe operation of your bicycle. Always inspect your bike, follow the manufacturer’s service intervals for your components, and consult a qualified mechanic for anything related to safety — brakes, tires, and structural parts in particular. Never rely on Steed alone to decide that a component is safe to keep riding.

Purchases

Steed is free to download and includes a one-time purchase, the Lifetime Unlock, which unlocks the paid features permanently on the Apple ID that bought it. It is not a subscription and does not renew.

All payments and transactions are handled by the Apple App Store, not by us. Purchases can be restored on your other devices using the same Apple ID. Refunds are handled by Apple according to the App Store’s terms; we cannot issue refunds directly.

Features included in the Lifetime Unlock may evolve as the app develops.

Apple Health

Steed can read your cycling workouts from Apple Health if you grant permission. Health access is optional and read-only, and Steed never writes to Apple Health. How that data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

Your data

Your bikes, rides, service history, and receipts are stored on your device. You are responsible for keeping backups of your device. We cannot recover your data if you delete the app, reset the app, or lose your device.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the app for any reason, including a breach of these terms. You can terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the app.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its calculations will be accurate for your situation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the app — including any damage to a bicycle or component, any personal injury, or any loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute relating to your use of the app shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of France.

Changes to these terms

We may update or modify these terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Your continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
