Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of FitnessStats, the iPhone app with its widgets and Shortcuts actions (the “app”), published by Charles-Adrien Fournier, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app.

Use of the app

FitnessStats reads the workouts saved in Apple Health and turns them into statistics, route maps, trophies and Recaps, for your personal, non-commercial use. It does not record workouts itself: each figure is only as accurate as the device or app that recorded the workout, and it only covers the data you allow FitnessStats to read. You agree not to misuse the app or use it for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.

Your Health data

  • FitnessStats only asks for permission to read your workouts and related data in Apple Health. It never writes to Apple Health and cannot change or delete anything there.
  • Your Health data is processed on your iPhone. The app keeps a copy of your workouts on the device, shared only with its widgets, so that your stats open quickly. FitnessStats never syncs this copy to iCloud or sends it to us. Like any app data, it is included in your iPhone backups if you make them.
  • Otherwise, your Health data leaves the app only when you choose to share or export it, as described below.

Sharing, exports and other services

You decide what to share and where: a workout image or video, a summary copied with Export to AI, a CSV or JSON export, or the result of a Shortcuts action. Content you send to another app or service, such as a social network or an AI assistant like ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, is handled under that service’s own terms and privacy policy. FitnessStats does not send anything to these services itself, and we are not responsible for what they do with your content or for the answers and training plans they produce.

Only share what you are comfortable making visible: a route on a map can show places you visit often, such as your home. Only use photos you own or have permission to use.

Not medical advice

FitnessStats is for fitness tracking and information only. It is not a medical app and does not give medical advice. Its statistics and heart rate zones, and any analysis or training plan you get from an AI service, are not a substitute for advice from a qualified health professional. Talk to one before starting or changing an exercise program.

FitnessStats Premium

FitnessStats is free to download. FitnessStats Premium is an optional one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription. It unlocks the features shown in the app before you buy, such as periods longer than 90 days up to all time, the Recaps of earlier years, the route heatmap, every share layout without the watermark, and CSV and JSON export.

  • The price is shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. There is no renewal and no recurring charge.
  • Premium is linked to the Apple Account you bought it with. If Premium does not appear after you reinstall the app, or on another iPhone signed in with the same Apple Account, tap Restore Purchase on the purchase screen.
  • Purchases are processed by Apple, under Apple’s terms. Refund requests are handled by Apple according to its policies.

Intellectual property

The app, its name, icon, design and content are the property of Charles-Adrien Fournier and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not grant you any right to use them outside of normal use of the app. Your workouts remain yours.

Deleting the app

You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your iPhone. This also deletes the copy of your workouts kept by the app. Your data in Apple Health is not affected, and your Premium purchase stays linked to your Apple Account.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Statistics, records, trophies and Recaps depend on the data available in Apple Health and may be incomplete or inaccurate. To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any direct, indirect, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from or relating to the use of, or inability to use, the app, including decisions about your training or your health.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the app changes. Changes take effect when the updated terms are posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date is revised. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
